Raised Garden Beds

"Gardens and children need the same things- patience, love and someone who will never give up on them" - Nicolette Sowder

Bean pole beds can be built using multiple materials. The build must be free of splintering wood and sturdy. We are in need of 2-3 teepee beds.

Traditional raised garden beds will allow children to access plants easily while providing extra seating. Pressure treated wood is required and beds should be lined with garden plastic to protect the wood. 3-4 beds needed.

A very simple build. Cinder block builds are sturdy and provide an extra seating area for children. Blocks must be free of chips and deteriorating material. Beds should be rectangular in shape. In need of 4 beds.

Busy Bees Natural Learning Center is a Nationally Accredited Nature Explore Classroom. We have strived for the past 17 years to bring nature into the lives of the children in both Centre and Clinton County. From mud kitchens to tree limb teepees, these children explore their senses from the time they arrive every morning until the moment they depart.

This year we are expanding our learning and introducing raised garden beds and insect/bird boxes. We are looking for donations from families, businesses, and individuals who would like to assist us in making this a success for the children.
